Playing with my New Occasions Mini Products

I finally had some time to sit down and play with some of my Occasions Mini/Sale-a-Bration products that I pre-ordered earlier this month.

I really enjoyed making this card, it was very simple to do and I love the look of the Adorning Accents die and embossing folder on the bottom of the Calypso Coral card front.  I also sponged a little bit of Calypso Coral Ink around the edges of the smallest label just to give the Very Vanilla cardstock a hint of colour.

Supplies Used:

Cardstock:  Calypso Coral, Very Vanilla, Everyday Enchanment DSP
Ink: Calypso Coral
Stamp Set: Sincere Salutations
Big Shot Accessories: Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies, Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Folder, Labels Collection Framelits Dies
Vintage Brads (no longer available)

Digital Scrapbooking

I've been getting back into scrapbooking this past month so I was pleased to get the digital cd of the upcoming Sale-a-Bration items with my last Stampin' Up order.
I like to use the layouts from Nuts About Sketches for some of my pages so found a layout that I could use to show off the new Everyday Enchantment digital paper and some of the embellishments that were on the disc.

The name says it all - Everyday Enchantment - a great jumping off point for me to get motivated to finish scrapbooking the pictures I took when we first got our digital camera back in 2003.

Clean & Simple Stamping Sketch 163

Here is the second card that I made today using Sketch 163 from Clean & Simple Stamping.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Stampin' Up  Sincere Salutations & Stitched Stockings
Cardstock: Stampin' Up Very Vanilla
Punch: Stampin' Up Stocking Builder Punch
Ink:  Stampin' Up Craft Stampin' Spots - Garden Green, Not Quite Navy, Riding Hood Red & Chocolate Chip.
Accessories:  Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder,  Linen Thread, Basic Rhinestone,  Antique Brass Brads.

I changed it a bit by moving the sentiment over to the other side since the stocking punch is rather large and they take up a lot of room on the front.  I think I am going to do another card (or two) with this sketch and use a smaller punch or stamps and follow the sketch as it is shown above. I have a couple of ideas that will work nicely with this sketch.

Clean & Simple Stamping Sketch 162

Since it was raining all day, I thought I would spend the afternoon in my craft room.  I decided to follow a couple of the recent sketches over at Clean & Simple Stamping.

Here is the sketch for 162:

And here is the card that I made:

Supplies Used:

Cardstock: Stampin' Up Whisper White, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade
Stamp Set:  Stampin' Up Always (retired)
Ink: Stampin' Up Basic Black, Island Indigo
Markers: Pool Party, Island Indigo, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade & Daffodil Delight.
Ribbon: Non-SU

World Cardmaking Day

Today is World Cardmaking Day!  Here is what I was working on today:

I followed sketch #160 at Clean & Simple Stamping.

I used one of the few non-Stampin' Up stamps set that I have and coloured it in with pastels.
The main card colour is Early Espresso, with Pretty in Pink for the accents & images are stamped on Whisper White.
Ink is Early Espresso and Positively Pink (retired).
I used the Scallop Trim Border punch along the bottom and used the Big Shot to emboss the strip at the top.

Final Days of Sale-a-Bration!

Just a couple days left and then Sale-a-Bration will be over.

I placed my order this morning and took advantage of some great deals from the Stampin' Up Clearance Rack!
I love the Big Shot so I couldn't resist when I saw the clearance pricing on some of the dies for it.

Unfortunately, due to some things happening at home I haven't been able to do as much with my Stampin' Up as I had planned when I started last fall.  Hopefully everything will be settled soon.

I did work on one card recently for a friend at work who was leaving for a new job. The hedgehog stamp that came in my starter kit was perfect for her - she has 3 pet hedgehogs at home.  Except for the polka dot embossing folder all products are Stampin' Up and most of the cardstock used also came with my starter kit.  The hedgehog was heat embossed using a craft stampin' spot and clear embossing powder - that gave a nice texture for the quills then I lightly coloured it in with pastels.

Visit my Stampin' Up website to place your Sale-a-Bration order by March 31.  Earn one free Sale-a-bration stamp set for each $60 spent.

Stampin' Up Vancouver Regional Event

Stampin' Up held a regional seminar in Vancouver this weekend and I had an opportunity to attend the Friday night session with my friend Jen.  It was a smaller event than the one held today - only about 60 people or so.  While we didn't end up winning any door prizes, we did leave with a really nice stamp set - Nature Walk, from the Occasions Mini Catalogue (121925  $31.95 value)
- along with a packet of make and take goodies and a container of glass glitter.

We are both new demonstrators so we didn't know anyone there (everyone else was going on Saturday) - we ended up sitting with two other new demonstrators who had joined in October & November just like us! We also sat with Dale from the Canada Home Office and met Shelli when she came & sat at our table during the make & take time.

It was a great night, and I can't wait to use some of the new techniques that I learned.

Happy New Year!

Wow!  It's hard to believe that it is already 2011.  Last year went by so fast!

Now that the Holidays are done with it's time to get going on some of my projects.  I had been hoping to get started when I had some time off between Christmas & New Years but unfortunately my craft room is shared with the kids games room so it was otherwise occupied.  I did get some time to sort out some of my digital scrapbooking files - and got a bit of time to play around with my photoshop elements program and some digital photo masks.   I'll post some pictures here as I get caught up with my albums.

The Stampin' Up 2011 Occasions Mini is now available!  View the catalogue by clicking on the picture to the right.

Check out Stampin' Ups current promotion!
The Filled with Love Clear-Mount Bundle includes the Filled with Love Clear-Mount Set and exclusive Love Patterns Designer Series Paper Pack. Plus, you'll get a FREE package of Bitty Buttons--a $4.95 value.   Special offer available until January 24th.
