Baby Album Title Page with CM Woodland Whimsy

I finally had some time this week to get back into the craft room.

I have been working on some pages from my son's baby album, in no particular order, but want to start assembling it.  So I decided I would do my cover page before anything else.

I found this 5x7 photo sketch on Pinterest and recreated it using Creative Memories Woodland Whimsy Collection (retired).

I really love the non-traditional colours in this collection, and the adorable woodland creatures.

I popped up the squirrel sticker with some foam tape and added a little bling to the heart with a CTMH Bitty Sparkle.  And yes, I am really far behind with my some of my albums!  I thought that I had already finished a baby album but then my son mentioned it and when I checked my albums I didn't have one for him just his sister.

How adorable is that fox!  I cut the title on my Cricut using the Starfish font.

I used the Picket Fence Border Maker Cartridge along the edge of the orange paper and threaded some Stampin' Up Early Espresso Ribbon through it.

I usually will cut page titles with my Cricut but decided to use the pieces that came in the embellishment pack instead.

Bash My Stash: Rollerblading Layouts

Here are a couple more layouts from the Summer of 2000.  I had finished this album over a year ago but then came across a few more prints a couple of weeks ago.  Easy enough to add them into my album, that's what I like best about using side-loading pages.

I'm still working on bashing my stash and was able to find two different lines that went nicely together.  I really like the bright colours in the Bella Blvd Molly Collection with the CTMH Taste of Summer papers.  Great for children's pictures.

I found these rollerblade stickers in my stash and started pulling paper and embellishments that matched.   I'm pretty sure that I've had these stickers since the early 2000's.

I used a sketch from CTMH Stargazer WYW kit (free to download on their website until the end of April) for this two page layout.

For this page I used a sketch from a Scrapbook Generation e-book:

 Products Used:

  • CTMH Taste of Summer Papers (pink and purple patterned paper)
  • CTMH White Daisy Cardstock
  • CTMH White Shimmer Trim
  • Recollections White Glitter Enamel Gems
  • Recollections Black Cardstock
  • Bella Blvd Molly Collection (stars and camera prints, title stickers)
  • Bella Blvd Color Chaos Blueberry Strandz (navy stripes)
  • Mrs. Grossman's Rollerblade Skates Stickers

Bash My Stash: Layout with CTMH Rustic Fundamentals

I've been so busy working on my son's baby album that I haven't posted any layouts for a while.

I'm taking a break from his book while I wait for more of the CM Woodland Whimsy paper to arrive with my next order, so I thought it would be the perfect time to go back to the album that I started earlier this year.

I joined the Bash Your Scrapbook Stash Facebook Group earlier this year and it has made me look at my supplies in a totally different way.  I was able to finish putting my 2001 layouts together in just a couple of months with the exception of journaling and titles. And I've cut way back on buying new stuff - I've been going to my stash and looking through old product first when putting layouts together.

I did buy a few 4x6 layout books from Scrapbook Generation. I kept pinning their layouts and when they had a sale on the e-books I decided to buy them. I'm glad I did, my layouts have come together so fast using the guides and I don't tend to crop my pictures after printing them so these books are perfect for me.

For this layout I wanted to keep it simple, our friends were building their 1st house and I wanted to showcase the pictures so I went with neutral cardstock on black pages.   I'm not exactly sure which sketch I used for this layout - I usually write down the supplies and sketch used but I've moved everything around while doing the baby album and couldn't find the list.

Title Page for 2000 Scrapbook using Bella Blvd Molly Collection

**This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

I realized that I haven't added any recent projects to the blog in the past couple of weeks.

I've been spending a lot of time in my craftroom lately and finally finished my albums for 2000.
I ended up splitting the year into 2 books because one was just too thick with all the extra Flip Flaps™ that I included.

I was able to get a matching album in the CTMH clearance section, so I have both in the Slate Circle post bound album and I changed out the posts that are included with the album to smaller 1" posts so all the pages are laying nice and flat.

I've also started on my 2001 album, which won't be as thick since we didn't have as many pictures printed for that year.

Here is the title page for my 2000 album:

I chose a couple of leftover photos that didn't have a theme but were taken at the beginning of the year.  My son is a clown and I have lots of pictures of him making faces for the camera.

For this layout, I used a free sketch that I downloaded from Scrapbook Generation and the Bella Blvd Molly Collection.

I created the two titles in the Cricut Design Space App using the Augenblick Font.

I love how intricate the cut is using my Cricut Explore.   The title was cut out of plain Black cardstock and I added some shine with my CTMH Clear Shimmer Brush.  I also applied it to the Thin Cuts Hearts at the top of the page.

Card for CAS(E) this Sketch 206

**This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

I had been working on some fall layouts earlier this month and had a bunch of scraps from the Jen Hadfield Warm and Cozy line sitting beside my craft mat when I saw the latest sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch!

Perfect excuse to take a break from doing layouts and finally use the Lawn Fawn Jump for Joy Stamp Set and matching Dies that I bought a few months ago.

Stamping is so easy with my new Hampton Art Stamp Perfect Tool.
I was able to stamp the sentiment after adhering my patterned cardstock to the base and get it lined up just the way I wanted it.  No more dropping acrylic blocks or misaligning my stamped images because my hands are sore.

Card for CAS(E) this Sketch 204

**This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

Another card this week using a sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch!

I just bought a Hampton Art Stamp Perfect and when I saw this sketch I knew it would be perfect for the Jan 2016 Stamp of the Month - Beloved Bouquet.

I bought this set last year but hadn't used it because I have dropped my acrylic blocks a few times when trying to line layering stamps up.   Acrylic blocks and tendinitis just don't go well together. It was so much easier with the Stamp Perfect.

No embellishments on this one, instead I tried out my new CTMH Gold Shimmer Brush.
I had just primed it for the first time and the spots with a lot of gold glitter are covering up a couple of spots where I wasn't quite lined up.  Then I just highlighted different areas of the rose petals and leaf veins without re-priming to get a little less shimmer.

Supplies Used:

Here's my new stamp positioner, the Hampton Art Stamp Perfect.

Similar in design to a Misti,  it is a size in between the Mini and the original Misti but the price is way lower.  I really like the way you can centre your card along the bottom.  And the foam mat comes out so you can use thicker stamps, too.

A great tip I got from a YouTube user - cover the magnets with Washi Tape.  It keeps them from getting damaged if they snap together and if you have any arthritis or tendinitis problems like I do, it is easier to pick them up to reposition them.

Scrap My Stash: School Picture Layout

I was inspired by all the layouts posted last weekend in the Bash Your Scrapbook Stash Facebook Group and created this layout using up some Recollections patterned cardstock and these cute grade school cut-out titles.

I had forgotten all about these products, I'm not sure when I bought them but I had used one of the titles in a CM album that I finished years ago.

The photos are mounted on SU Pumpkin Pie and Real Red (my last sheet of 8.5x11) cardstock &  I added a border using CTMH Red Shimmer Trim.  I used CTMH Colonial White cardstock for my base pages.

This is the last layout that I needed to do for my 2000 Album,  I just need to go through and finish up some journaling and a few titles.

Halloween Layout with CTMH Jeepers Creepers

Here's a layout I finished using pictures from October 2000 using cardstock and embellishments from the new CTMH Jeepers Creepers Workshops Your Way Scrapbooking Kit.

I used two free sketches that I downloaded from Scrapbook Generation to plan out my layout, changed just a little to include the Beware pocket card instead of a 4x4 piece of cardstock.  On the RAWR layout, I switched the photo to the opposite corner from what was suggested but kept all the cardstock and photos the recommended sizes.

After inking the edges in Goldrush Ink, I dressed up the Beware Pocket Card with a strip of Black Shimmer Trim, and the embellishments and Washi Tape are from the Jeepers Creepers Kit.  The Willow patterned cardstock that I used to mat the smaller photos is from the Adventure Fundamentals paper pack.

This is one of the cutest Halloween Kits I've seen, there is also a patterned cardstock with adorable little monsters on it.

CTMH Blossom Scrapbook Layout with Springtime Wishes Thincut Dies

**This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

Working on layouts right now using up retired CTMH cardstock from 2015.

This layout uses the Blossom paper pack from last year's Seasonal Expressions 2 Idea Book and I got my inspiration from the cover of the 2016 Seasonal Expressions 1 Idea Book.   I love the new Thin Cuts metal dies that CTMH introduced in this Idea Book back in January.

I also used a pattern from the Regatta Workshops Your Way Guide.  The Workshops Your Way program was also introduced in the SE1 Idea Book - the layouts for these workshop kits are available to download for free right off my CTMH website.   Each guide is only available until that Idea Book retires so make sure you download the current layouts and then check back in September for the Holiday WYW layouts - each guide features card and scrapbooking layouts.

My son, the clown...

Springtime Wishes Flower on Blossom patterned cardstock with Lagoon and Pear die cut accents.  Embellished with Coral Reef Sequins and Bitty Sparkles.

Large cluster of Springtime Wishes Flowers using the cover of the SE1 as inspiration.   Embellished with Bitty Sparkles.  I cut the title and date pieces with my Cricut and sponged the edges of the Sunset and Glacier Cardstock with the coordinating inks.

I used a Ranger Clear Embossing Pen in my Cricut Explore to write the words out, then heat embossed with Ranger Super Fine While Embossing Powder.

Happy Times Card for May Gathering

One of the card projects I'm putting together for a Gathering next week, using the Happy Times paper pack and stamp set available this month only for National Scrapbook Month.

Card pattern is from CTMH Wishes How-to Book, Page 40.   I used CTMH Pomegranate Exclusive Ink on the flowers,  full colour on the outer flower and I used the second generation technique to get the lighter flower in the background.  I just stamped it on a scrap piece of paper to get off most of the ink then stamped onto my cardstock leaving a very soft, pretty colour for my card.  I stamped the White Daisy cardstock with a small flower and stem using Canary and Fern Inks, then used second generation stamping for a couple of leaves on the background piece.  I also used Fern Ink to stamp the fussy cut leaves for my larger flower.  I stamped the sentiment and then lightly sponged the edge of the cardstock with Pomegranate Ink.   I cut two small pieces of ribbon and knotted them before attaching to the corner of the White Daisy cardstock.

Chicken Pox Scrapbook Layout using Cricut Dr. Checkup cartridge

**This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking through my links.

Finished another layout this week from when my son had the Chicken Pox.

I used CTMH Magic How-to book for the page layout and used up some of my Bella Blvd Color Chaos scraps from previous layouts.

It is really hard to find cardstock to match Chicken Pox spots so a bit of the multi-coloured cardstock with some Recollections embossed cardstock in red had to do for the spots on my layout.

I used Recollections solid cardstock for my Cricut cuts and embellished with a bit of CTMH Red Shimmer Trim.

Cricut Cuts Used:

Dr. Checkup for title and thermometer
Barnyard Babies for Chicks
Plain Jane Cricut Font for Date (from Cricut Access subscription)

Kids Basketball Layout using CTMH Charlotte Workshop Cutting Guide

**This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking through my links.

I love the Workshop Guides and How-To Books from Close To My Heart.  They were the first products that really made an impression on me 2 years ago when I signed up as a Consultant, and have changed how I scrapbook.

I've gotten way more pages done in the last 2 years all because of these books.  Although there are thousands of sketches available online I always turn to the guides because they have all the measurements laid out for cutting and placement on the page.

The page I made below uses the Charlotte Workshops Your Way Cutting Guide.

Here is the example layout from the Charlotte Workshops Your Way guide.

My layout using the same pattern but adding in an extra photo and using Cricut cuts.

Fun basketball Cricut cut - my daughter had curly blonde hair when she was a kid, so I cut this image to match and placed it beside the photos of her throwing the ball at the hoop.

This cut from the Nifty Fifties Cricut cartridge is perfect for this Coca-Cola Family Picnic layout.  I'm sure I'll be using it alot since I have more pages to scrap from other Coca-Cola employee family events.

Skipping Rocks Layout with CTMH Jackson Paper Pack

**This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking through my links.

I just completed another layout from a day trip to the lake using  CTMH Jackson Paper Pack with the latest CTMH Cricut Cartridge - Artistry.

I used the layout pattern included in the CTMH Zoe Workshop On The Go Scrapbook Kit.
The Skipping Rocks title is cut from the font on the CTMH Artistry Cricut Cartridge

I cut the journaling tag from the CTMH Artistry Cricut cartridge and wrote on it using my Cricut Explore with the Artistry font (writing style) and a Pilot Precise V5 Pen.  I sponged the edges with CTMH Glacier Ink.

I embossed the CTMH Glacier cardstock with the CTMH Woodgrain Embossing Folder.

The date tag is cut from the CTMH Artistry Cricut cartridge and I used the Artistry font (writing style) to write the date on the tag with my Cricut Explore.

Car Show Layout Using CTMH Urban

**This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking through my links.

Here's another masculine layout using the CTMH Urban paper packet from the current CTMH Annual Inspirations Idea Book.

I went with a very simple layout and only used a bit of Shimmer Trim for embellishment.  I choose to highlight a few pictures taken at a local car show that is held here every Spring.

I used Whisper cardstock as my base with patterned cardstock from the Urban paper packet with a little bit of Bronze Shimmer Trim as a border.  I sponged the edges of the Saffron photo mats with Desert Sand Ink.

I created my page title using a cut from the Nifty Fifties Cricut cartridge using Saffron and Slate cardstock.  I used a pen in my Cricut Explore to write the title with the Everyday Fonts - Big Day font in my Cricut Access subscription.  I was originally going to cut out the title and have black cardstock show through but the letters were tiny so I switched to the writing feature instead.

CTMH Charlotte Workshops Your Way

With today's launch of the new Seasonal Expressions Idea Book comes a new Workshop Program called Workshops Your Way.

It's a little different than the current Workshops on the Go Program.

This new program includes all the supplies needed to make three 12x12 layouts, one Picture My Life Pocket Scrapbooking Layout and nine cards. The instructions are available to download from my CTMH website.

There are also coordinating My Acrylix Stamp Sets and the new Thin Cuts dies available separately for each kit.

This is the Charlotte Workshops Your Way Kit, it comes with this gorgeous patterned cardstock, some solid cardstock and a bunch of accessories, including some gorgeous black ribbon with gold running through it.

No ink or stamps needed to complete the scrapbook layouts.

The card instructions show the new Springtime Wishes Stamp Set &  Springtime Wishes Thin Cuts   metal dies.

This is the first layout from the Charlotte Workshops Your Way Kit.  It was perfect for my cousin's wedding reception photos.  Too bad I had forgotten my camera at home and didn't get any of the outdoor ceremony.

Since I didn't have many pictures to choose from I added an extra Picture My Life Card and will probably add a Cricut cut with a title on that upper floral spot.

The journaling card is also one of the Charlotte WYW Picture My Life cards.

This is the coordinating Springtime Wishes Stamp Set which is available separately.  I'm happy they decided to offer it like that sometimes I have wanted just the stamp set and not the whole Workshop Kit.

This is exciting!! We now have coordinating metal dies!
They come in the same packaging as our stamp sets but are on these great magnetic sheets.

I'll admit it - I have spent the same amount on my Big Kick and all the plates and platforms as I did for my Cricut Explore.  I used my magnetic platform for the first time cutting out the new Thin Cuts
I will probably be using it a bit more with these new Workshops.

I stamped my images first with Archival Ink then ran them through the Big Kick.
I used CTMH Watercolour paints on them but you can also use and Ink Pad with a sponge dauber and get really nice soft colour on the cut pieces.

These are the three cards from the Charlotte Workshops Your Way Instructions.
I had enough scraps left to do the nine cards and a little bit more.

If you added in some extra solid cardstock you could really stretch out the patterned cardstock and make a lot more layouts or cards.
