Card for CAS(E) this Sketch 204

Another card this week using a sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch!

I just bought a Hampton Art Stamp Perfect and when I saw this sketch I knew it would be perfect for the Jan 2016 Stamp of the Month - Beloved Bouquet.

I bought this set last year but hadn't used it because I have dropped my acrylic blocks a few times when trying to line layering stamps up.   Acrylic blocks and tendinitis just don't go well together. It was so much easier with the Stamp Perfect.

No embellishments on this one, instead I tried out my new CTMH Gold Shimmer Brush.
I had just primed it for the first time and the spots with a lot of gold glitter are covering up a couple of spots where I wasn't quite lined up.  Then I just highlighted different areas of the rose petals and leaf veins without re-priming to get a little less shimmer.

Supplies Used:

Here's my new stamp positioner, the Hampton Art Stamp Perfect.

Similar in design to a Misti,  it is a size in between the Mini and the original Misti but the price is way lower.  I really like the way you can centre your card along the bottom.  And the foam mat comes out so you can use thicker stamps, too.

A great tip I got from a YouTube user - cover the magnets with Washi Tape.  It keeps them from getting damaged if they snap together and if you have any arthritis or tendinitis problems like I do, it is easier to pick them up to reposition them.

Congrats Graduate Card

I finally got to make a card using my Cricut machine. I was having problems with the mat that came with the machine. It was bent slightly in the middle and the blade would drag across my images and make scratches in the cardstock. So I've had it weighed down with all my cardstock for a few weeks. So far so good but I do have two new mats on the way with my Close To My Heart order.

Here's my card. I used the grad cap image which is free in the Cricut Craftroom this week, CTMH Congrats Graduate stamp set $6.95 (A1139), CTMH Chevron Embossing folder $8.95 (Z1925), CTMH Black Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad $5.25 (Z2105).  Misc. cardstock from my stash.
I really like how this turned out - I tend more towards clean & simple when I'm doing cards.

Clean & Simple Stamping Sketch 163

Here is the second card that I made today using Sketch 163 from Clean & Simple Stamping.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Stampin' Up  Sincere Salutations & Stitched Stockings
Cardstock: Stampin' Up Very Vanilla
Punch: Stampin' Up Stocking Builder Punch
Ink:  Stampin' Up Craft Stampin' Spots - Garden Green, Not Quite Navy, Riding Hood Red & Chocolate Chip.
Accessories:  Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder,  Linen Thread, Basic Rhinestone,  Antique Brass Brads.

I changed it a bit by moving the sentiment over to the other side since the stocking punch is rather large and they take up a lot of room on the front.  I think I am going to do another card (or two) with this sketch and use a smaller punch or stamps and follow the sketch as it is shown above. I have a couple of ideas that will work nicely with this sketch.

Clean & Simple Stamping Sketch 162

Since it was raining all day, I thought I would spend the afternoon in my craft room.  I decided to follow a couple of the recent sketches over at Clean & Simple Stamping.

Here is the sketch for 162:

And here is the card that I made:

Supplies Used:

Cardstock: Stampin' Up Whisper White, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade
Stamp Set:  Stampin' Up Always (retired)
Ink: Stampin' Up Basic Black, Island Indigo
Markers: Pool Party, Island Indigo, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade & Daffodil Delight.
Ribbon: Non-SU

World Cardmaking Day

Today is World Cardmaking Day!  Here is what I was working on today:

I followed sketch #160 at Clean & Simple Stamping.

I used one of the few non-Stampin' Up stamps set that I have and coloured it in with pastels.
The main card colour is Early Espresso, with Pretty in Pink for the accents & images are stamped on Whisper White.
Ink is Early Espresso and Positively Pink (retired).
I used the Scallop Trim Border punch along the bottom and used the Big Shot to emboss the strip at the top.
